Fire causes $400K in damage to farm house near Ridgetown, Ont.

Early morning fire causes $70K in damage to Wallaceburg townhouse

Crews from three Chatham-Kent fire stations were called to beat back a blaze at a farm house near Ridgetown, Ont. around midnight Monday.

The two-storey house suffered an estimated $400,000 in damage, but everyone inside was able to escape safely, according to Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services.

Firefighters from Ridgetown, Orford and Blenheim were all called to take on the flames that spread to the attic and walls of the house on Front Line near Shewburg Road, causing extensive damage.

The cause of the fire could not be determined.
