Thamesville man arrested after fire causes $125K in damage

A Thamesville man has been charged with arson in connection with a suspicious house fire that caused $125,000 in damage on Saturday.

Witnesses saw the 45-year-old man driving away from the home as smoke started coming out of the windows, according to Chatham-Kent police.

The house was fully engulfed in flames when crews from two fire stations arrived.

Three fires had been reported at the home in the week before the fire, but no injuries were reported.

The man was arrested after an investigation by the Ontario Fire Marshal.
