Fire rips through house in Whitehorn

Fire devastated a house in the northeast community of Whitehorn early Thursday morning.

Shortly before 4 a.m. MT a police officer noticed the fire on the 400 block of Whiteland Drive N.E.

When crews arrived the occupants of the house had already got out safely.

A second alarm was called and firefighters quickly brought the fire under control.

An adjacent house was also badly damaged by the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

There have been four major residential fires in Calgary since July 27.
