House fire in Sheshatshiu under investigation

A fire investigator was in the Labrador community of Sheshatshiu Sunday, following a house fire that happened Saturday night.

RCMP Sgt. Chris Hastie told CBC News police received notification of the fire shortly after 8 p.m.

Hastie said there were people inside the home when the fire started, but added all individuals were able to get out of the residence safely.

RCMP said while no one was injured, the residence was a "complete loss."

One resident said she heard screaming and yelling from the house, and then soon saw flames coming out of the kitchen area.

Fire crews were on site shortly after the fire began.

A neighbour said the house's roof was destroyed.

It is not yet known what caused the fire.
