After fiddling with various knobs on the machine and getting no response, the man, from Fuqing, China, thought the roller might have been malfunctioning or that there was something stuck inside.

He then decided to stick his head into the cylindrical space to inspect the roller, but was horrified to find himself stuck in the machine.

The man, shirtless and flustered from trying to escape the washing machine, was found by his flatmate minutes later, who tried to free him by applying soap to his neck.
