Firefighters rescue woman after 18-metre fall into Orleans gully

Ottawa firefighters have rescued an 18-year-old woman who fell down an 18-metre gully in Orleans and suffered a head injury.

Fire officials say the woman was found at around 5:30 a.m. Friday near Fallingbrook Ridge, just off Princess Louise Drive, after a call was made to 911.

The high angle technical rescue team from Ottawa Fire Services responded to help pull the woman from the gully at Taylor Creek.

They were able to rescue her within about an hour, according to a news release.

She suffered a head injury but was in stable condition when paramedics took over her care, fire officials said.
