DETROIT, Dec 6 (Reuters) - Electric car startup Fisker Inc is not under investigation by U.S. regulators for its merger with a special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC), a spokesman said on Monday.

"Our merger with Spartan Energy Corp, completed in October 2020, was reviewed by the SEC and other relevant regulatory authorities," Fisker spokesman Simon Sproule said in an email, following the disclosure by Lucid Group Inc that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission had sent a subpeona for documents related to that company's blank-check deal.

"To date, we have not received any requests for additional information from the SEC relating to the merger transaction and, to our knowledge, we are not under any investigation by the SEC regarding our SPAC merger," he added. (Reporting by Ben Klayman)
