Wildfires in Napa and Sonoma County spread to cover an area of 32,025 acres by Tuesday night, August 18, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

Evacuation orders were issued for residents of the two counties in northern California as firefighters continued to battle the LNU Lightning Complex fires.

The blaze, yet to be contained to any degree, was initiated by lightning, according to local reports.

California Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency while efforts continued statewide to bring wildfires under control.
