You wanna see what real movie star chemistry looks like? For once, we’re not talking about George Clooney and Julia Roberts. We’re talking about Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield in interviews promoting their upcoming tear-jerker rom-com, We Live in Time.

In the film, Garfield’s and Pugh’s characters fall in love after an unlikely meet-cute involving a car accident. And after watching their press tour, I (and the rest of the internet, clearly) have become convinced that the actors want us to believe that the romance was actually real.

In one viral clip, Garfield and Pugh are discussing the horse meme that came from the movie poster. “I love that fucking horse,” Garfield joked in the interview. Pugh counters, “We should get a tattoo of it,” to which Garfield responds, “Mate, I’m way ahead of you,” leading Pugh to flirtatiously pretend to look for the nonexistent horse tattoo on Garfield’s bicep.

Comments on the interaction include: “Why don’t you guys get married already??”; “Are they best buddies or are they dating in real life?”; and, “these 2 are EVERYTHING 😍.”

In another segment from the interview that has also gone viral, Pugh and Garfield disagree on whether or not the horse’s head actually made it into the film. “I don’t think it was in the movie, babe,” says Pugh. “Baby,” Garfield responds, “This is undebatable.” Cue the gushing from the internet commenters, who tweeted that “This chemistry kinda fire… 🔥,” and “The way they say ‘babe’ and ‘baby’ IM GONNA DO SOMETHING DRASTIC.” TikTok, meanwhile, has become awash with fancams of the two of them

Here is where I remind everyone that Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield are not actually dating (as far as we know), and we really shouldn’t start shipping real people the way that we do fictional characters.

That said, you can’t deny that their chemistry is truly next level.
