Khabib Nurmagomedov’s challenge to Floyd Mayweather didn’t go unanswered for long. Mayweather has already responded, and it sounds like he’s in.

Mayweather made it clear that he’s on board, telling TMZ he wants to fight. When asked about the bout, Mayweather told TMZ “we fighting,” but then clarified that he wants to do it, but he doesn’t know about Nurmagomedov’s side. Mayweather then added, “We can make it happen.”

While the 41-year-old Mayweather is willing to accept the challenge, he made sure to lay out a few ground rules for the fight. Nurmagomedov has to take on Mayweather in the boxing ring, and it has to be in Las Vegas.

Holding the fight in Las Vegas could be an issue. Nurmagomedov is currently suspended by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NSAC) for his actions following his fight with Conor McGregor at UFC 229. Nurmagomedov jumped out of the Octagon to brawl in the crowd shortly after defeating McGregor. Both Nurmagomedov and McGregor were suspended for 10 days by the NSAC. The commission will vote on whether to extend that suspension following an investigation.

If that situation gets resolved, it will be up to Nurmagomedov to decide whether he wants to meet Mayweather’s demands. Getting in the ring against Mayweather might be risky, but the potential payday could be enough to convince Nurmagomedov to do it.
