Flurry of weekend drunk-driving cases in Prince Albert, Sask.

Pedestrians hit by vehicles in Regina and Prince Albert

After five drinking-and-driving incidents in a little more than a day, the courts were busy in Prince Albert yesterday.

Here's a roundup of the five cases that had police scrambling Saturday and Sunday:

- At around 3 a.m. CST. patrol officers responded to a complaint of impaired driving on 2nd Avenue West close to the Holiday Inn. Officers arrested and charged a man, 45, with impaired driving and refusing to provide a breath sample. He's scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 14.

- About 15 minutes later, patrol officers went to a car crash at Little Red River Park. They arrested and charged a MacDowall man, 21, with impaired driving, refusing to provide a breath sample, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and theft of a motor vehicle. He was scheduled to appear in court Monday.

- A 28-year-old man was the next to be charged after his vehicle was pulled over at around 7:15 a.m. That happened on 6th Avenue East near the Cornerstone Shopping District. The man was charged with impaired driving, refusing to give a breath sample and breach of probation. His first court appearance was Monday.

- On Sunday morning, at around 7:15, officers pulled a vehicle over at 22nd Street and 2nd Avenue West, west of Kinsmen park, and charged a 36-year-old Prince Albert woman with impaired driving and refusing to provide a breath sample. She was scheduled to appear in Prince Albert provincial court on Monday.

- Another woman, 25, was pulled over at around 9:30 a.m. the same morning on the 100 block of 28th St. W. She's been charged with impaired driving and having a blood-alcohol level exceeding .08 per cent. Her first court date is Oct. 18.
