Ford back from Florida where 'phone didn’t stop ringing'

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is back from a vacation in Florida, telling reporters today that he is still catching up on what happened while he was away.

The mayor said he had a “peaceful” vacation, though "his phone didn’t stop ringing."

Ford admitted watching some college sports while in the United States, but didn’t make it to a Miami Dolphins game.

Though Ford said he is holding out hope that Miami can somehow squeak into the NFL playoffs.

"We're still alive, we can get a wildcard [spot] maybe," he said.

The mayor wasn’t prepared to talk about things like the city budget or the crumbling Gardiner Expressway, saying he still needs to be briefed about what happened during his vacation.

Ford helped deliver boxes of food to needy families on Thursday and took a few moments to shoot some hoops with some children at a community centre.
