Forecast calls for afternoon showers, followed by a stunning Ottawa long weekend

Ottawa weather forecast calls for continued rain, warmth

If you're looking to experience a preciptation-free long weekend, don't leave the office early.

Friday's forecast calls for sunny skies this morning, followed by a mix of sun and cloud and a 30 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon. Might as well stick around and finish processing those TPS reports while that happens.

The high is 27 C, although the humidity could make it feel more like 31. Today's UV index is eight or very high.

Any remaining clouds should clear out by this evening, though. The overnight low is 15 C.

As for the long weekend, toss that work phone in the lake and get ready for a nearly unending string of sunshine.

Saturday's daytime forecast calls for mainly sunny skies and a high of 27 C. There could be a few showers Saturday night, but by Sunday it's back to a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 29 C.

Expect more of the same for Colonel By Day: the forecast is predicting sun and cloud with a high of 27 C. And it's the same story at the moment for the rest of next week, too.
