Former Home and Away star Bonnie Sveen marries long-term partner

Former Home and Away star Bonnie Sveen has married her long-term partner in an intimate Tasmanian ceremony.

The actress, best known for the role of Ricky Sharpe on the Aussie soap, and Nathan Gooley said 'I do' earlier this month at the Stewarts Bay Lodge in Port Arthur, and were joined by their 4-year-old twins, Myrtle and Emerald, as well as family and friends.

"We needed it to be really family-friendly because we had 21 kids there!" Sveen told New Idea.

"So, we wanted things to be nice and simple… and keep it centred on the love between Nath and I and the family," she continued.

The pair got engaged in 2020 when Gooley popped the question during a family beach holiday.

"We'd committed to each other a while ago and that love was really clear," Sveen said.

"I think having kids… the focus kind of shifts away from your relationship and your romance and even on you as an individual. So, [the engagement] was a gorgeous way to push that to the forefront."

As for the ceremony, Sveen explained the twins were at the centre of it.

"It was a dream come true for us to have our two little children watching on, and being a part of it, celebrating. We were coming at the wedding as a whole family circle, rather than as just a pair."

Prior to playing Ricky on Home and Away, the actress made a guest appearance on the series as Hayley Dove in 2010. She left the show in 2016.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.

In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7plus.

Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK.
