Former Reggaeton Duo Wisin and Yandel Reunite for World Tour Featuring New Music

They’re back! After parting ways in 2013, popular reggaeton duo Wisin y Yandel are working together again on new music. Both kept busy as solo artists: Wisin’s latest collaboration with Jennifer Lopez — her single “Amor, Amor, Amor” — reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart. Meanwhile Yandel’s new track with Puerto Rican singer Maluma, “Solo Mía,” drops Feb. 9. Now, they are ready to reunite for a world tour.

Llandel Veguilla (alias Yandel) and Juan Luis Morera Luna (Wisin) remained friends even while pursuing their own musical paths, always keeping fans hopeful for a reunion. Their wives and children are also close. “We have a very healthy relationship, a relationship that is professional but also very personal, one of respect and admiration,” Wisin told People en Español about his friend and colleague. Yandel added about his musical other half: “We are family.”

Now devoted followers will see them together again on stage. “The time is here,” Wisin captioned a photo with Yandel he shared on Instagram on Feb. 6, generating an endless stream of joyful comments. “The dynamic duo!” one wrote. “Oh, my God! I can now die in peace,” another fan joked. “I adore you. You are each incredible on your own, but together you are the very best,” her message continued.

A press release sent by their representatives on Feb. 6 confirmed the reunion. Wisin and Yandel’s first concert together since their 2013 Líderes tour will take place on March 31 at the Altos de Chavón Amphitheatre in La Romana, Dominican Republic. More dates for the 2018 World Tour will soon be announced.

The reggaeton duo grew into a musical force during a 14-year run that began in 1999. They earned various multiplatinum certifications in the United States and Latin America and dozens of prestigious awards, including a Grammy, two Latin Grammys and 10 Billboard Latin Airplay No. 1s.

While there is still no mention of a new album, the singers recently collaborated on two new singles: Yandel’s “Como Antes” featuring Wisin — which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart in October — and Wisin’s recently released “Todo Comienza en la Disco,” featuring Yandel and Daddy Yankee.
