Foxy Brown Fans Are Convinced She's Reacting to Jay-Z Rape Allegation with Cryptic Social Media Posts: 'WOW'
The hip-hop stars collaborated on several songs together in the 1990s
Nearly 30 years after Jay-Z helped her get her rap career off the ground, Foxy Brown has seemingly responded to a new lawsuit claiming the hip-hop star raped a 13-year-old girl.
Brown, 46, was a protégé of Jay-Z’s in the 1990s, and was featured on a track on his 1996 debut album Reasonable Doubt. The two also had a Top 10 hit, “I’ll Be,” off Brown’s debut album the same year.
On Monday, Dec. 9, Brown shared a series of cryptic posts to her Instagram Stories, just one day after Jay-Z (né Shawn Carter) was accused of raping a teenager in 2000 alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs at an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty in New York City. Both Carter and Combs have vehemently denied the allegation.
“WOW,” she posted, following that Story with, “WAIT 😳,” according to screenshots posted to the Daily Mail and TMZ — which many fans took to be a response to the allegation.

Rumors that Brown (né Inga DeCarlo Fung Marchand) and Carter, 55, had a sexual relationship have been swirling since 2001, when Nas alluded to them hooking up on his Carter diss track “Ether.”
In October, the rumors began to circulate once more on social media, prompting Brown to speak out in Carter’s defense.
According to fan screenshots, Brown took to her Instagram Stories to slam rumors that she’d been forced to sign a non-disclosure agreement that was set to expire in 2025, calling Carter by his “Hov” nickname.
“Miss me wit tha fake news,” she wrote. “NDA? Ain’t a [motherf----r] alive could stop my story! NDA on my s--- gon’ run 100 mill.”
In another story, she wrote: “Stop playin’ wit my name dyin’ for a comment! Can’t spin me wit the sucker s— to take Hov down. Betta ask bout tha cloth I’m cut from!”
Brown then posted a screenshot of someone telling her to “stay protected” should she decide to speak out, and she responded: “Y’all want me to be anti-HOV so bad 😂😂😂 Foh post that!”
The “Get Me Home” rapper previously defended Carter to TMZ in 2013, telling the outlet that she had nothing but good things to say about him.
“Jay has only been wonderful to me and my family, a great friend throughout all the years I’ve known him and we had nothing but great success as a team,” she said.
Carter was named a defendant in an amended complaint filed by a Jane Doe in New York on Sunday, Dec. 8. Doe had previously filed the suit in October, naming only Combs as a defendant. She said both musicians raped her while a third, unnamed female celebrity watched.

She alleged that she was asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement upon arriving at the party, and was drugged upon being served a drink.
Shortly after the amended complaint was filed, Carter responded on Roc Nation’s X account, calling the allegations “heinous” and a “blackmail attempt.” He also labeled Doe’s attorney Tony Buzbee a “fraud” who hoped “the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle.”
Carter's attorney has reportedly filed paperwork requesting that a judge require Jane Doe to "reveal her identity if she wants to continue the lawsuit," according to the Associated Press.
Combs’ attorneys, meanwhile, have called the suit an “extortion attempt.” He is currently behind bars on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking, with a trial scheduled for May 2025.
