Frédéric Laforge, Mathieu Reyjal set up mobile farmers market
Frédéric Laforge and Mathieu Reyjal are taking their backgrounds in marketing and business and pairing them with a love of local food.
The Farmers Truck, which launched on Friday in Moncton, will deliver exclusively local produce, meat, cheese and bread from 20 producers to what Laforge says, is a food-conscious community.
"People are getting more educated on what they buy. They understand that when you make a purchase you're casting a vote, you're saying, 'This business I like and I want it to stick around,'" Laforge said.
He says the goal of the truck is to provide Moncton residents with a one stop shop to pick up everything they need to make a locally-sourced supper without the hassle.
"Wherever we park, we are servicing that neighbourhood with fresh, local veggies," he said.
Laforge said their website will have a strict schedule telling their customers where they will be parked from day-to-day, and residents can request where they would like to see The Farmers Truck parked next.
