Frederik Andersen keeps Maple Leafs in Game 6 with pair of glove saves

Frederik Anderson has often been the Toronto Maple Leafs’ best player in their first round series with the Boston Bruins, and that was certainly true at the end of the first period on Sunday.

Although the Danish netminder gave up a pair of goals - one of them an arguably questionable tally by Torey Krug - early on, he kept his team in the game with a couple of absolute beauties in quick succession.

This robbery on Patrice Bergeron in particular will be remembered if the Maple Leafs win Game 6.

There’s also a fairly good chance it goes down as a futile act of heroism by the Maple Leafs goaltender, but even outside of any context the save itself is ridiculous.

Win or lose, that’s one for Andersen’s highlight reel for years to come.
