Environment Canada is warning people in Montreal and other areas of southern Quebec to look out for freezing rain this weekend.
The agency issued a special statement Friday morning saying snow would begin later in day for areas of southern Quebec and mixed precipitation would follow this weekend.
Sunday is when Environment Canada says the snow will turn to freezing rain.
This weather system is expected to sweep through southern Quebec starting in Abitibi on the western side of the province and moving east through the Montreal area as it continues over to the Lanaudière region and finally, the Eastern Townships.
Areas of northern Quebec have a blizzard warning as well with snow and strong winds moving along the Hudson Strait beginning this afternoon.
