Get ready for a slippery Sunday in and around the Ottawa-Gatineau area.
Environment Canada is warning that periods of freezing rain are expected to to develop Sunday afternoon across eastern Ontario and western Quebec and persist until the evening.
Temperatures should rise throughout the afternoon and the freezing rain should eventually change to normal rain, but it may take longer in the Ottawa Valley for that to happen, Environment Canada said.
In Ottawa-Gatineau, Environment Canada is forecasting periods of freezing rain beginning Sunday afternoon and a daytime high of 0 C.
The freezing rain will likely change to normal rain after midnight, with normal showers in the Monday forecast and a high of 5 C.
