Freezing rain warning over in Ottawa

Environment Canada's freezing rain warning for Ottawa is now over.

It said light freezing rain fell for a few hours around midnight in the capital.

Ice may accumulate up to two millimetres in some areas before the freezing rain tapers off in the morning, said Environment Canada when the warning was issued Wednesday afternoon.

People should be careful on highways, roads, walkways and parking lots.

"Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas," the warning advises. "Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions."

Thursday's forecast calls for drizzle and a high of 5 C in Ottawa.
