Fresno police sergeant arrested in Roseville, accused of attempting lewd acts with child
A Fresno police sergeant was arrested Wednesday after authorities in Roseville accused him of attempting lewd acts on a child.
Sgt. Paige McQuay, 56, was placed in custody in Fresno after the Roseville Police Department said he was the subject of a sex crimes investigation, according to a news release from the Fresno Police Department.
He was accused of attempted lewd acts with a minor and of contacting a minor in an attempt to commit an offense, police said in the news release.
McQuay has worked with Fresno Police Department since 1993, according to the department.
He was placed on paid leave as the investigation is ongoing, police said.
“This criminal investigation was initiated and conducted by the Roseville Police Department and the Fresno Police Department is cooperating fully with them,” police said in the news release.
Details about the investigation were unknown. Lt. Chris Ciampa, a spokesman with the Roseville Police Department, did not immediately return a request for comment.
