Fundraiser Saturday for 3-year-old crash survivor

Timothy Wheaton, 3, wain being cared for by his grandfather.

A fundraiser is being held today for a little boy from central Newfoundland who lost his family in a car accident last spring.

Timothy Wheaton's mother, father and brother were killed on the infamous Highway 63 in Alberta.

Melissa Hodder, a pastor with the Windsor Pentecostal Church in Grand Falls-Windsor, said the fundraiser is for Timothy's trust fund. She said it will be a family fun event with games, a bouncy castle and barbeque.

Hodder also said she's been in contact with Timothy's grandfather who is raising the boy.

"[Timothy] is adjusting quite well, according to his grandpa, and is off to pre-school three hours a day and enjoying that and basically trying to pick up life as normal as it can be for him right now," she said.
