There are a million reasons to follow Gabrielle Union on Instagram: adorable family photos (her and Dwyane Wade&aposs 17-month-old daughter, Kaavia, is already legendary for her meme-worthy facial expressions), style inspiration, skin envy — you name it. But we&aposd be lying if we said waiting for the actor&aposs next big hair switch wasn&apost on our list. Union looks incredible in literally every hairstyle she wears, so when she changes things up, the buzz about each new look is palpable. And on Saturday, she revealed her latest hair makeover.
Union posted a quick selfie video to Instagram on April 4, the Leikeli47 song "Wash & Set" playing over it. In it, Union is touching and lightly tugging on her deeply parted, short, natural curls as she smiles at her reflection. And based on the caption, she not only has a sense of humor about it, but she also seems to suggest she&aposs working on a hair product for her Flawless line.
"When your natural locks appreciate the lock down. Unlocking the secret soon... 🔐," Union wrote, followed by the hashtags #InTheLab #QuarantineNaturalHairChronicles and #FrederickDouglassRealness.
"Yes beauty!!!!" Tracee Ellis Ross commented, basically speaking for everyone. Hairstylist Larry Sims wrote, "Let’s Gooooooo!!!!! 😍🙌🏾👑," and even reposted the video to his own Instagram grid. Journalist and activist Ashlee Marie Preston also appreciated one hashtag in particular, writing, "Did you hashtag Frederick Douglas Realness??? STAAAAHHPP!!😂."
The last time we saw Union with this style was back in October 2019. She revealed the short style between two longer looks and has been wearing her super-long box braids with loose ends pretty much constantly since then. But considering how everyone&aposs currently staying home during the COVID-19 pandemic, it seems Union may not make such quick switch to a new look this time. And her fans and friends are more than OK with that.
