When you see Gabrielle Union on Instagram or TV, you’d never believe that her skin is ever less than perfect. The reality is, however, she has issues just like you and me—but she knows what products to reach for when they arise. In an interview with New York Magazine’s The Strategist, Union dished about two of those she can’t live without: an exfoliating scrub and her favorite travel-friendly face wipes.

The scrub is Credo Beauty’s Beneath Your Mask Polish Detoxifying Body Scrub, which Union says is her only solution for all-over super parched skin. It was recommended by her L.A.’s Finest makeup artist.

“I’m with her 12 to 16 hours a day for months at a time when I’m working, so we’re just always talking about products,” Union told The Strategist. “She suggested this to me at a time when my skin was so dry it was literally cracking.” Depending on how dry the weather is, she uses it two to three times a month—that’s it!

“I put it on a little washcloth and go to town,” she said. “It removes all of my dead skin, and I feel so hydrated after.” According to Credo’s site, the scrub is formulated with Dead Sea salt, aloe vera, colloidal oatmeal, and avocado oil. On a night out, Union might seal the treatment with her fav Fenty Beauty Body Lava for a radiant head-to-toe glow.

Next up, the wipes she can’t live without: CLEANSE by Lauren Napier’s The Abundance Facial Cleansing Wipes, also introduced to her on set. The individually packaged cloths are ideal for stashing everywhere, just in case. “I started buying them in bulk,” Union explained. “I keep them in the car. I keep them in my purse. I use them after workouts. Even when I don’t have makeup on, I use them because they’re like a little refresher. And they smell like a spa. They have aloe and chamomile and cucumber extract, so they’re super-soothing, especially when I’m having a breakout or I’ve got a little rash or whatever. I always have something these days.”

When a stubborn hormonal breakout does surface, she has a go-to spot treatment that her facialist says eliminates zits in two hours: Lerosett’s Spot Treatment & Clearing Mask. As Union gets older, she’s experiencing changes in her skin, and is simply doing her best to prepare for them. “As a woman of a certain age, my hormones can kind of dictate what is happening with my skin,” she told The Strategist. “Sometimes I’m successful in balancing them out, but other times I’m not.”

If you ask us, she’s doing a pretty great job.
