MORRISBURG – South Dundas Deputy Mayor Kirsten Gardner is the local Liberal candidate for the upcoming June 2 provincial election.

The Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry Liberal riding association held its nomination meeting to confirm her nomination April 26.

Riding association Vice President Denis Sabourin confirmed Gardner is the only candidate to step forward for the local nomination and has met all filing requirements for the party.

“I am honoured to have my name on the ballot to offer a strong and experienced voice and the hope that the concerns of our residents will be represented and heard at the provincial level,” Gardner said.

She announced her intention to run for the Liberals on March 15. This is her first foray into provincial politics.

Gardner was elected deputy mayor of South Dundas in October 2018.
