Gatineau police investigate home invasion on Solstice Street

Gatineau police are searching for suspects after a woman reported a home invasion on Solstice Street just after 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Police would not say if the woman was injured or how many suspects were involved.

A nearby daycare, CPE Des premiers pas, and elementary school, l'école primaire du Plateau, were put in secure mode as police launched a search for the suspects, along with a canine unit. The secure mode has been lifted, police said.

It's the third home invasion investigation this month, police said.

On Thursday night, a 75-year-old man was injured when three armed men entered his home on Amherst Street, less than five kilometres away from the home on Solstice Street.

On March 21, a 52-year-old man suffered minor head injuries during a home invasion just before 6 a.m on Pearson Street in Aylmer.

Gatineau police are investigating the possibility that the home invasions are linked but said it's too early to tell.
