Gatineau police not pressing charges after girl, 13, rams car into house

Gatineau police say they don't intend to charge a 13-year-old girl after she took her parents' car without permission and crashed it into the side of a house early Saturday morning.

The incident happened just before 1 a.m. at the intersection of Avenue de la Drave and Rue de Rouville.

Investigators said the girl lost control of the vehicle, drove through a flower hedge and then crashed into the house. They said alcohol and drugs were not a factor.

Police said the girl also had friends in the car, but wouldn't specify the number or their ages.

The 13-year-old suffered minor injuries, police said.
