Genoa have announced that 14 members of their squad and staff have tested positive for coronavirus.

It is believed that up to 10 of those to have contracted the disease are players, though goalkeeper Mattia Perin and midfielder Lasse Schone are the only individuals to have been named.

The latest round of testing by the Serie A club followed Sunday’s 6-0 defeat at Napoli in the Italian top flight.

“Genoa CFC announce that after today’s tests, the number of Covid-19 positive employees has risen to 14 between team members and staff,” read a statement released by Genoa on Monday.

“The club has implemented all the procedures as per the protocol and informed the authorities. The club will give updates as the situation evolves.”

Genoa are scheduled to host Torino in Serie A on Saturday, but that fixture is now in serious doubt.

Napoli, meanwhile, are due to travel to Juventus on Sunday.
