George Clooney is reportedly all about supporting women who tell off their bosses for suggesting they lose some weight.

According to Once and Again actress and writer Julia Whelan, who once shared the small screen with Clooney during a brief stint on the television show ER, Clooney has strong feelings about the pressures actresses face to achieve a certain body type.

On Friday, Whelan penned a Twitter thread about her experience overhearing an on-set conversation between Clooney and another person, allegedly about co-star Julianna Margulies being asked to lose weight.

Whelan, who did not respond to Yahoo Lifestyle’s request for comment, set the scene by describing her interaction with Clooney, which was nothing short of swoonworthy.

Whelan said Hollywood beauty standards in the late ’90s were brutal, and added, “There was NO variety of female body types on television.”

And of course, Margulies rocks for reportedly championing body positivity long before it was a buzzword.
