Geri Horner and her fellow Spice Girls look almost unrecognisable in an old photo from the group’s very early days.

The grainy throwback - which Horner, aka Ginger Spice, posted on Instagram - shows the Wannabe singers in a recording studio at the start of their career.

Their arms are wrapped around each other as they pose for the camera.

“Back in the day trinity studios near maiden head. Singing We’re gonna make it happen,” said Horner, adding the hashtag “#dreambig”.

In the snap, Horner is in a red dress, while Baby Spice Emma Bunton is wearing white with her blonde hair in the bunches she came to be known for.

Posh Spice Victoria Beckham is all smiles in her trademark black, while Scary Spice Melanie Brown serves up one of her signature fierce looks. Melanie Chisholm looks very different to her Sporty Spice persona in a white and black dress, with her hair loose over her shoulders.

Fans were thrilled to see such an early picture of the group, who got together in 1994 and found fame with Wannabe in 1996.

“OMG I LOVE THIS PICTURE i love to see them at the beginning like this,” said one person on Instagram, while another branded the shot “iconic”.

“Legends,” said another fan.

Others took the opportunity to beg the group for another tour.

“The U.S needs a Spice Girls tour!” said one, while another pleaded with the singer: “2020 world tour plsss….”

The Girl Power group got back together for a stadium tour in 2019, minus Beckham, who turned down the chance to join them.
