Girl, 10, in life-threatening condition after being struck by vehicle in Mississauga

A 10-year-old girl is in life-threatening condition and a 13-year-old has minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Mississauga.

Peel Regional Police were called to the scene in the Erin Mills Parkway and Battleford Road area just before 1:15 p.m.

Paramedics say the younger girl was rushed to The Hospital for Sick Children.

Const. Akhil Mooken told reporters police believe the driver of the vehicle was trying to turn left from Erin Mills Parkway onto Battleford Road when the girls were struck,

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.

Roads in the area are closed as police investigate.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or who has dashcam footage is being asked to contact investigators.
