Glam Girl Band! Kaia Gerber, Gigi and Bella Hadid Go Punk Rock in New Moschino Campaign

The (supermodel) band is back together!

For its Spring/Summer 2020 campaign, Italian fashion house Moschino enlisted top models Kaia Gerber, 18, Gigi Hadid, 24, Bella Hadid, 23, Imaan Hammam, 23, and Adut Akech, 20, to channel their inner rock stars — while wearing some serious head-turning looks.

The “Moschinorama” video series, directed by the label’s Creative Director Jeremy Scott, is inspired by ’80s television and opens with Tyra Banks introducing the supermodel group as the host of the “Top Pop Beats” show.

“Who put them on the top? You did. And now it’s time to see them pop, pop, pop,” Banks says in gold and black dress featuring oversize puffed sleeves, which she styles with voluminous curls and chunky gold jewelry.

“I’ve got a special surprise for you,” Banks continues in another video iteration. “You’ve asked, and we’ve answered. We’re bringing you the number one group in the nation: Moschinorama!”

As “It’s a Cool World” by Karla DeVito plays, the video cuts to the star-studded girl band (all in ‘80s-punk couture and rock ‘n roll hairstyles) who are lip-syncing to the track. Gigi leads the vocals before Gerber jumps in to lip-sync her part and then the entire group sings the chorus together.

In one video Gigi wears a strapless ruffled polka dot mini dress, a chunky chain necklace and a mullet hairdo, leads the vocals. Gerber, who shares an uncanny resemblance to her supermodel mom Cindy Crawford, rocks a one-sided short haircut, a green printed dress mini dress with beaded embellishments and big gold earrings.

Gigi and Gerber star in the next video in matching prints, with Gigi now in a one-piece swimsuit and Gerber in an oversize strong-shouldered dress and gold tiny-frame sunglasses.

But the couture punk rock band doesn’t stop there. Scott debuted the third video in the series on Thursday morning, and the models’ ensembles are true ‘80s art.

Keeping the same hairstyles (a mullet for Gigi, and high ponytail and scrunchie look for Bella), they change (for a third time) into matching pop-art graphic printed looks in a variety of silhouettes.

The Hadid sisters and Gerber have been Moschino muses before. Gigi starred in the label’s fall/winter 2019 collection, where she, Joan Smalls and Irina Shayk clawed it out in a high-fashion catfight. And Gigi and Bella fronted the fashion house’s spring/summer 2017 collection together. Gerber has walked the Moschino runway before, most notably when she channeled Jackie Kennedy for the fall/winter 2018 season.
