Good Robot, Islamic centre on good terms again
Good Robot Brewing in Halifax says it and the Islamic Development Centre have figured out how to address the centre's concerns after it complained about noise and garbage coming from the bar.
A complaint against the Robie Street bar and brewery was filed by its next door neighbour, the centre, with the alcohol and gaming division of Service Nova Scotia in late September.
The centre complained about garbage, vandalism, loitering, vomit and loud noise, and originally sought to have the brewery stripped of its liquor licence.
"We were able to meet this past weekend for a lengthy and constructive chat," said a statement released Wednesday through Good Robot's Twitter account. It said it was a joint statement between the bar and centre.
"As a result, we were able to reach a number of common understandings and agreements about how to address the centre's concerns and improve our relationship with each other."

The statement said the centre does not intend to try to shut down the brewery but "rather to exist harmoniously together, provided reasonable concerns can be addressed with reasonable measures."
Good Robot said it denounces any "ill-will" that was directed at the centre. The Islamic Development Centre told CBC News earlier this month that it had been the target of xenophobic and Islamophobic messages after news broke about the dispute.
The statement said both sides have come up with steps to improve the relationship. Part of that plan is to meet regularly to "ensure our mutual goals are being met."
Good Robot Brewing and the Islamic Development Centre did not immediately respond to interview request Wednesday.
