Gore site owner released on bail for 2nd time
The owner of an Edmonton gore website that posted a video allegedly linked to Luka Magnotta was granted bail Thursday for the second time since he was charged with corrupting morals last month.
Mark Marek, 38, was released on $500 bail.
Police began hunting for Marek last week after he failed to report in, one of the conditions of his bail.
Mark was arrested Friday at a truck stop south of Edmonton after a warrant was issued for breaching recognizance.
Marek was charged July 17th with one count of corrupting morals for posting a video which allegedly shows Magnotta stabbing and dismembering 33-year-old Chinese student Jun Lin.
He was released on $7,500 bail a week later.
Outside of court Thursday, Marek's lawyer said her client intends to plead not guilty to the corrupting morals charge.
"Having reviewed the scant amount of disclosure I have at this time, it is our opinion that Mr. Marek is not guilty," said Laurie Wood. "This matter will be proceeding to a trial — likely judge and jury trial."
The case is back in court in September.
