Grand reopening of Brockton scheduled for July 16

BROCKTON – Some things are worth celebrating, and this is one of them.

On Friday, July 16, Durham Street from Victoria Street to Jackson Street will be closed to traffic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., as everyone celebrates the grand reopening of Walkerton’s downtown businesses.

It coincides perfectly with the province’s stage three reopening, said Paulette Peirol, Brockton’s community development co-ordinator.

There’ll be sidewalk sales to take in, lunch at favourite restaurants to enjoy, and even a chance to win some Walkerton dollars. The event is brought to you by the BIA, with support from the municipality.

Among the support offered by Brockton will be picnic tables, tents and staff assistance. Young entrepreneurs have been offered space, as has the Nuclear Innovation Institute’s Explore program.

Traffic will be detoured along Scott Street from Jackson Street to McNab Street.
