The Grand Tour's Richard Hammond announces exciting new role
The Grand Tour star Richard Hammond has announced an exciting new project.
Hammond and his co-presenters Jeremy Clarkson and James May have said goodbye to the Prime Video car series after eight years and five seasons.
Shortly after the final episode dropped on the streaming service on Friday (September 13), Hammond revealed on Instagram that he's already got a new project in the works with his restoration company, The Smallest Cog.
Alongside an image of the presenter standing next to two cars from the series, the post's caption read: "It's an end of a era. BUT the start of something exciting, we don't just have 1 but 2 of the latest @itsthegrandtour cars!

"We are so excited to start work on these icons, keeping their special memories but getting them back to a usable working order to be enjoyed."
Hammond, Clarkson and May have worked together as a presenting trio for over two decades. They co-hosted the BBC car show Top Gear from 2002 to 2015 before launching The Grand Tour in 2016.
Their final episode of The Grand Tour, which was filmed in September 2023, sees the trio embark on a stunning road trip through Zimbabwe in a Lancia Montecarlo, a Ford Capri and a Triumph Stag.

Speaking to Metro, Hammond recently explained what viewers can expect from the finale, saying: "It's a very honest and heartfelt goodbye and thank you from us.
"Don't expect big bangs and crashes. It's actually quite simple. It's quite a sincere thank you for making it possible for us to have such an incredible time over the last two decades together."
During the interview, the presenter also confirmed that The Grand Tour will continue with new presenters – but he doesn't know who they are yet.
"We're stepping away as the hosts, but Prime will be continuing it," he said. "So I can't wait to sit on my own chair and watch somebody else do it. That's amazing."
The Grand Tour: One For The Road is available to stream on Prime Video.
