Grande Prairie RCMP officer bear-sprayed responding to break-and-enter call

Shots fired at parked vehicle in Yorkton

RCMP are looking for a stolen Ford F350 truck after a Grande Prairie officer was assaulted with bear spray early Tuesday.

The vehicle's occupants are considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached, RCMP said in a news release.

Grande Prairie RCMP were called to a break-and-enter at a rural property northeast of the city around 4 a.m.

An officer went to the area and tried to confront the driver of a vehicle. While talking with the people inside the Mountie was bear sprayed.

He called for help, but the suspects ran off on foot before more officers arrived.

Police believe the suspects then stole a white 2015 Ford F350 FXR truck with a sled deck, running boards, black rims and a light bar on the front of the truck.

The licence plate is RVU 200. Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked to call 911.
