The grandmother of public speaker and artist Henry Fraser surely meant well. For his birthday, she sent him a card as grandmothers are known to do with a warm message. Or so it seemed.

“I can best describe you in a few words,” the card reads above a stick drawing of a person holding a glass of wine. “Terrific, Wonderful, Awesome, Tremendous”

What she probably didn’t realize was that the first letter of each adjective spells out a vulgar term that’s often used as an insult.

“Got this birthday card from my grandma. The sentiment is beautiful, but she didn’t realise what the card was trying to say,” Fraser wrote on Twitter.

When another Twitter user remarked that granny is sure to be mortified by the hidden message, Fraser admitted that he doesn’t have the heart to tell her.

It goes to show that some things really are best left unsaid.
