Grandson’s birthday surprise makes grandmother cry tears of joy

Iris Howard isn’t likely to forget this car ride with her grandson anytime soon.

The 86-year-old grandmother recently celebrated her birthday. This year, her grandson, David Goodings, decided he would prepare something extra-special for her, as a token of appreciation.

“I thought I would do something a little bit different for my nan this year. Once she was in the car and thinking she was listening to the radio she suddenly got the biggest shock of her life…,” Goodings wrote in the video’s description.

Howard may have thought she was listening to the radio, but thanks to some clever audio editing by Goodings, she is suddenly treated to a specially-tailored news bulletin from her many loving family members.

She can be seen bursting into tears of joy as various well-wishes and heartfelt birthday messages are played over the radio, all while her smiling grandson drives her around the city.

It’s a touching moment between grandmother and grandson that shows how a simple gesture can go a long way.
