Grant Park house fire sends elderly woman to hospital
At least one person was injured during a house fire near Grant Park Shopping Centre Saturday afternoon.
Fire crews were called to a home in the 100 block of Hector Bay West at about 1 p.m.
Fire Chief Frank Leswik said an elderly woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries. She hurt herself while trying to carry a pot of cooking oil outside, Leswik added.
The kitchen was damaged extensively in the fire, but both occupants in the home made it out safely.
The cause of the fire hasn't been released, nor has a damage estimate.
