PUSLINCH - The 2022 operating budget includes $22,029 for community grants, however, eight organizations are currently asking for grants, totaling up to $46,680 of grant requests.

Council is set to determine how much each organization will be getting on Wednesday during their second budget meeting starting at 10 a.m.

Aberfoyle Agricultural Society, Aberfoyle Farmers’ Market, Friends of Mill Creek – Grand River, Puslinch Lake Conservation Association, Sunrise Therapeutic Riding and Learning Centre, Wellington County Plowmen’s Association are the eight organizations requesting grant money.

Township staff advertised the 2022 Grant Application Program on the Township’s website, Engage Puslinch and the Puslinch Pioneer and indicated a deadline of Aug. 31 to submit a grant application.

Funds available under the grant application policy program are limited to a maximum of 0.50 per cent of the previous year’s taxation levy per calendar year.

This year, the 0.50 per cent of $4.4 million, which is the approved tax levy for 2021, is $22,029.
