Gun fired as they fell from balcony while fighting. Columbus police arrest man for assault

The Columbus Police Department announced Wednesday the arrest of a man allegedly involved in a shooting while falling from a balcony in southeast Columbus five months ago.

Police said Adrian Keaton was arrested Tuesday on outstanding warrants in connection to a March 26 incident in the 3300 block of Matilda Lane.

Keaton allegedly produced a weapon during a confrontation with another male, according to police.

Police said both men fell from a second-floor balcony. Keaton allegedly fired a round during the fall.

Police said Keaton also fell on the victim, causing injury.

Keaton was arrested and charged with the following crimes, according to police:

  • two counts of aggravated assault

  • possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime

  • possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
