Gun reported at Montague high school turns out to be replica
RCMP say there is no threat to the public after a replica firearm was seized at Montague Regional High School on Monday.
The school was locked down at about 12:45 p.m. after reports that a firearm had been seen on school grounds.
When police officers got to the school on Valleyfield Road, they found the object to be a replica pistol.
There were no injuries, and police determined there was no threat to the public or anyone at the school, said RCMP Cpl. Gavin Moore.

He said even though the report of the gun came third-hand, it was important to notify police.
"Certainly anytime anybody believes a firearm is on school property, that is something that needs to be addressed quickly."
Moore said the lockdown lasted only a short time. He said the investigation is continuing, and it's uncertain whether charges will be laid.
