Hajdu says she told Bearskin Lake chief there's 'open line of communication,' talks military response

Indigenous Services Minister Patty Hajdu said on Thursday that she has had several conversations with Bearskin Lake First Nation Chief Lefty Kamenawatamin and stressed there was an "open line of communication," adding the chief has her cell number to contact her. She also said that when they received the military request for the community from the Ontario government, Canadian Forces members were "immediately" sent out to assess where "gaps" continued to be amid the COVID-19 outbreak in the region.
