Halifax man dead following single vehicle accident near Lunenburg, N.S., Friday night

HEBBS CROSS, N.S. — RCMP in Lunenburg, N.S., are investigating a single vehicle accident that has claimed the life of a 60-year-old man.

Emergency crews responded to the accident shortly before midnight Friday on Highway 103 in Hebbs Cross.

Police say a car had been travelling east when it left the roadway and came to rest in a ditch.

The driver and lone occupant of the car, a 60-year-old Halifax man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His name has not been released.

The highway was closed for several hours, but has re-opened.
