Halifax RCMP look for man posing as ADT salesman in Cole Harbour

Halifax RCMP are trying to find a man who dressed up as an ADT salesperson and tried to sell alarm systems to Cole Harbour residents.

On Feb. 2 around 3:30 p.m., police say the man posing as a salesman tried to sell an ADT system to a homeowner in Cole Harbour. But when the homeowner asked for photo identification, the man did not provide it.

Police say they had a second report from another resident in the same neighbourhood.

Police called the local ADT office and confirmed salespeople must carry identification. They also said ADT didn't have salespeople in the area.

The suspect is described as a white man, 20 to 25 years old, and around five-feet-nine-inches tall. Police say he had curly blonde hair and was wearing a red baseball cap and blue jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
