The body of a missing boater was found in the Grand River late Friday afternoon.

At 9:15 p.m., Haldimand County OPP announced in an email that searchers had found the body of Cody Thomson, 25, of Hamilton.

Thomson was reported missing on Thursday around 7:20 p.m. after he was seen falling off his Seadoo into the river near Highway 54 and Onondaga Townline Road.

The Seadoo was later recovered.

Numerous police services took part in the search, including the OPP’s underwater search and rescue team, police aircraft and the Haldimand marine unit.
