‘Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking’ Lands on Prime Video in the U.K. (EXCLUSIVE)

“Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking” has been acquired by Prime Video for the U.K and Ireland.

The show, which features pairs of bakers whipping up magical Potter-inspired creations in a competition format, is set to air in the U.S. on Food Network and Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming platform Max from Nov. 14. New episodes will drop weekly.

It will be available on Prime Video in the U.K. from Dec. 17 with the sixth and final episode premiering on Christmas Eve.

Internationally, “Wizards of Baking” will be on Max in territories where the streamer is available.

However, with Max not yet available in the U.K., in part due to WBD’s longrunning and lucrative output deal with Comcast-owned broadcaster Sky, it seemed likely the show would land on Sky and its streaming platform Now.

Currently all WBD “Harry Potter” content is available on Now, including all eight feature films and two unscripted series, “Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts” and “Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses.” Other WBD content is also available on the platform, including “House of the Dragon” and “The Penguin.”

But with WBD eager to roll out Max in the U.K., there has been mystery over whether the deal will be renewed when it expires at the end of 2025 and what it will look like.

Tensions between the companies now appear to be increasing, particularly over the Potter franchise, after Sky filed a lawsuit in October alleging that WBD had breached their content agreement by refusing to partner on HBO’s upcoming “Harry Potter” series adaptation.

“Warner’s reason for refusing to honor its obligations to Sky could not be more clear,” Sky allege in their lawsuit. “Warner has chosen to keep the Harry Potter Series for itself and make the blockbuster Series the cornerstone of its own Max rollout in Europe.”

“Wizards of Baking” is hosted by James and Oliver Phelps, who played the Weasley twins in the film adaptations, with judges Carla Hall and Jozef Youssef joined each week by another former “Potter” cast member to assist them in deciding which contestants will progress to the next round and which will have to apparate him.

Reps for Sky and Warner Bros. Discover did not respond by press time.
