Hawks' Trae Young diagnosed with bone bruise, listed as questionable for Game 4 vs. Bucks

Trae Young suffered a bone bruise to his right foot during Game 3, the Atlanta Hawks announced on Monday following the guard's MRI that day.

Young will be listed as questionable for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals to be played Tuesday in Atlanta. The Milwaukee Bucks lead the series, 2-1, and are listed as -1400 favorites to win the series after the Game 3 win and Young's injury.

Young injures foot stepping on ref

Young rolled his ankle late in the third quarter of the 113-102 loss to the Bucks. The Hawks led by three, 85-82, at the time and Young threw up a pass from the sideline to the basket that was intercepted.

When he stepped backward to go back on defense, his right foot stepped on the foot of referee Sean Wright, who was out of bounds on the sideline officiating play.

He fell to the ground and stayed there in pain for a bit until eventually limping to the locker room. He taped the ankle, which was ruled a sprain at the time, and returned with 8:44 remaining. But he wasn't himself and scored only three of his 35 total points after his return. He said after the game the foot was sore and he was limited.

Young banking on treatment to return

Young, 22, said it is frustrating, but after the loss he said he hoped to get treatment on it and be ready to go for Game 4.

Head coach Nate McMillan was more reserved on that call, telling reporters he didn't know Young's status moving forward and voicing concern the star was obviously limping on it.

Young neared a triple-double in Game 1 of the series against the Bucks with 48 points, 11 assists and 7 rebounds.
